A game about galactic exploration, colonization and conquests.

Dominions of Supremacy is a strategic boardgame that can be compared to classical computer games as Master of Orion, Startrek BOTF, or GalCiv etc. It's a 4X game which means that it's all about the eXploration, eXpansion, eXploit and eXtermination of other players.

The players represent different races that have just started to colonize the galaxy. By developing your home planet, creating new colonies and conquering the planets of your enemies you can win the game. Or, stay in the background and concentrate your strength to conquer the remaining few artifacts left by an ancient civilization, which may hold the key to the Universe's secrets.

The game is played on LinCon, one of Sweden's largest game convents with around one thousand attendants.

Background

Long ago, an alien culture populated most of the galaxy. These aliens and most traces of their existence disappeared long ago. However, some remnants of these aliens still exists and, their late presence in this galaxy is probably the main reason why you and your civilizations all have so suddenly been thrusted into the space faring age.

Some time ago strange artifacts, robots and even small ships started to appear throughout wormholes in the galaxy. Most of the equipment thrown out from these wormholes is badly damaged and of little or no use to your scientists. But some, such as that damaged hyperdrive which landed on your homeworld barely a century ago, has proven invaluable to your understanding of physics, subspace and the universe itself.

The whereabouts of these long gone aliens remain a riddle to you. Some of your scientists have suggested that they moved to another dimension while your religous leaders proclaim they died under the wrath of God. But what made them fly this galaxy, some inevitable catastrophe? That would explain why these wormholes has started to appear more frequently the last centuries. But why and from where are these strange artifacts coming from. Did the ancients fail in their escape, and what did they try to escape from?

After launching your first colony ship to spread your seed in the galaxy your race soon discovered that you where not alone. At first, panic spread around the planet, believing that these others where the ancient gods come back to claim what was theirs. Soon there after, the panic was replaced with hope and greed as it dawned on you that these others where but feeble animals barely capable of spacefaring. What was rightfully yours to claim; planets, artifacts, resources; where now quickly taken by these inferior races - you must avange this hedonism with all neccessary means. If this means war, so be it!
